I was born in Melbourne and started in the travel business after my first 6-month backpacking trip around Europe in 1988. It’s funny to think back now and remember that I only went because everyone else was. However, the ‘bug bit’ and I ended living in the UK for ten years and developing a love of travel and the feeling of stepping out of my world and into someone else’s’ albeit for a short time. I’ve now travelled extensively through Europe, UK, Ireland as well as the States and Canada. I have taken safari trucks around Africa and driven through Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

I have extensive experience travelling and sailing around the Kimberley region of Western Australia, which has been my main customer focus in the past few years

My favourite Australian Destination

The Kimberley - where else! We are so lucky to have such a vast and largely untouched wilderness in our own back yard. The colours are spectacular and the array of bird and wildlife – not to mention waterfalls, history and rock art – make this a very special part of not only Australia but the world.

Best place to stay in Australia

I do love the Four Seasons in the Rocks district of Sydney but I’ll stick to my theme of the Kimberley and say the Cable Beach Club. I truly believe it is where most people will be happiest when staying in Broome. It is absolutely in the best location and I love wandering around the gardens with the wallaby’s jumping around. There’s nothing like sitting in the Sunset bar having pre-dinner drinks and then sitting under the frangipani trees by the pool having dinner. Breakfast looking at the ocean is a great way to start your day. I must mention the service as well – exemplary.

Best Australian travel experience

Going out to Mt Conner in the Red Centre for the day and hand feeding wild kangaroos water; croc watching and fishing in the Kimberley; flying over and then walking around the Bungle Bungles. Any good market anywhere!

I was born in Bristol in the UK and lived in London until my mid-thirties. My first visit to Australia was as a backpacker on a working holiday visa in the early 1990s. I travelled and worked all over the country – factory worker in Sydney, travel agent in Melbourne, removalist in Adelaide, a banana farm worker in the NT and finally a barman in Cairns.

I emigrated to Australia in 2002 and in my first travel job here I was immediately put in charge of domestic enquiries as none of my Australian colleagues could match my knowledge of Australia!

My favourite Australian Destination

Broome and the Kimberley of course but I am also very keen on the east coast of Tassie.

I was born in Melbourne (a long time ago) and have been in the travel industry for over 10 years. My late in life career change was to learn more as I started my own travels and to help others experience the fun of exploring other countries and cultures away from the usual holiday destinations.

I specialise in cruising, with extensive experience and knowledge on Princess, P & O, Cunard, Holland America, MSC Cruises, Isabella II in the Galapagos, Orion & Odyssey Expeditions in the Kimberley Region of Australia.

My favourite Australian Destination

The Kimberley Coast of course. Nowhere else beats the magnificent scenery only viewable from the water.

Best place to stay In Australia

Had the pleasure of staying on the One & Only Hayman Island since it has been rebuilt. Something for the “WOW factor” for sure.

Best Australian travel experience

Besides cruising the Kimberley Coast, the next best would be travelling up the Cape York Telegraph Track to the very top of Australia. A journey with many different experiences only able to be travelled in the dry season. River crossings, roadhouses that are isolated during the wet season, seeing how the locals live and the compulsory photo on the most Northern tip of Australia.
